The event will begin with a 1-hour ‘fireside chat’ / Q&A session with Dr. Ayodele Thomas, Associate Dean for Graduate Education & Diversity. In 2005, Dr. Thomas became the first black woman to receive a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford, and since then, she has dedicated her career to advancing graduate education and increasing opportunities for underrepresented students. Her talk will be followed by a reception celebrating the achievements of women in science, including food and drinks. Attendance at the talk is not required to attend the reception.
